About
eMarketing Matters is intended as a repository of internet marketing related topics and references. It will include my observations arising from day to day experiences of helping companies to best exploit the myriad of marketing opportunites that are present on the internet. It will also include references and links that I stumble over and consider worth sharing.
After spending 35 years in large blue chip companies across a variety of business sectors I formed my own company in 2005 with the express purpose of operating a WSI affiliated Internet Consulting business.

My objectives now are to help companies to use their websites effectively as a key marketing tool that directly and measurably supports their business objectives. I like to work in close partnership with my customers as a trusted advisor, and aim to providing a breadth of general business experience as well as focussed internet solutions.
Since I started the business it has become increasingly apparent to me that effective measurement of internet marketing campaigns is not a primary consideration for many website owners. It seems that this is often considered the domain of large corporate entities, when in fact the information is readily available to all enterprises regardless of size.
Without the benefits of a large marketing budget and regular brand promotion campaigns, it is ever more critical that the smaller company has a clear understanding of website performance measurement, in order to compete effectively. The approach used helps to ensure that marketing campaigns are delivering measurable benefit and can be readily tuned to maximise return on investment.
This blog is not a theoretical view of internet marketing, but is based on practical experience gained on a day to day basis in the process of supporting my customers.
I hope you find it useful and that your constructive comments will add to the debate.
